So we head back to Norway this week, seems the guys in Blonde Rose are creating a bit of buzz with their regular retro rock releases. I think it was only about 4 weeks ago, we had the single "Rock N Roll Endeavour", which was very well received. It`s now the turn of "Spirit Of The Sun" that the band have released this week, another quality tune, with their 70`s rock n roll stamp. I also had a former A&R guy for Earache Records, making enquiries about the band about a week ago. So maybe bigger things are in the works for Blonde Rose, I guess it`s a watch this space moment. It`s always nice to hear that some bands are reaching a wider audience with each release, which is what we all do it for!!

Taming Sari

 

Taming Sari has released a brand new single and video, “Tea & Honey”, a teasing love song about the kind of girl who keeps you guessing - playful, sharp, and a little mischievous, yet impossible to resist. Tea & Honey is produced and recorded by Ross Hayes Citrullo (The Commoners), two-time JUNO Award nominee. True to the song’s theme, the instrumentation keeps the listener guessing with unexpected twists and turns. The accompanying music video is produced by up and coming Ottawa producer/videographer Sebastian Ribeiro. The video tells a humorous story of frontman Warren Meredith waking up and realizing his bandmates, who have moved on to different professions, do not remember they were part of the band. Taming Sari has been rocking the Canadian music scene since 2017 by delivering catchy tunes and captivating live shows. I am a independent singer songwriter, guitarist from Norway. I am a known artist in the local community in Sandvika a small town outside Oslo Norway. I have concerts in Norway and abroad, sometimes with a band, usually I perform by myself. I sing my own songs and cover songs and likes to operate in genres such as Country, Folk, Blues and Rock.

"Your Holy Ground " was released 2024 with great success, resulting air playing around the world and it also won the 9th Ldm Music Awards, Country genre. 

 

December 2024 I released my own Christmas song "Ringing for Christmas" resulting airplaying in Norway and in some countries in Europe and USA. 

My heart also lies in the blues/rock genre, so my last single "Lord's Blues" is ready to "hit the road", ready to be launched on all streaming services 3/10-25.

 

This song is recorded in various studios in Norway, with great musicians. 

"Lord's Blues" was written and produced in a way to retain an original feel and power that fits the message of this song, lyrically, visually and emotionally. The song is a tribute to the roots of the blues, while adding a "vintage" and rock touch with a personal expression with a melancholic undertone.

Dorothy Wallace

 

 

Dorothy Wallace is a singer/songwriter and Worship Leader living in Houston, Texas. She started her music career in New York City singing mostly secular music. She is now exclusively writing and performing Christian music to glorify God. 

 

This is a Rock Heavy Metal cover of "The Lord's Prayer" by Arnold Strals. It was a hit for Sister Janet Mead in 1973 with an easy listening vibe. This version is much louder!

Brass Camel

 

 

New material from a brand new album, after just 8 months after the release of Camel their second album. Which was a very progtastic, venture that the band, felt they needed to get out of their system, only having 6 tracks track`s to be featured. This time the guys hooked up with early Rush producer Terry Brown and Kevin Comeau from Crown Lands, so not at all progtastic!! Of course the guys have a very 70`s funk style about their music and "Ice Cold" the new single is no exception. With a assuming Ice Hockey based video, which although the guys are from Canada, I believe not all the band had skating legs, despite the video footage.

Maurice Aucoin

 

Maurice Aucoin is a distinguished singer/songwriter From Halifax, Canada, and recognized as one of Halifax’s most venerable musicians. He's been the driving force behind the dynamic Eastern Canadian band, 'The Persuaders', for an impressive 34 years. Throughout his career, Maurice has not only showcased his exceptional performing abilities with the band, but has also proven himself as a proficient solo artist. Short Fuse Swamp Blues

 

Steve Coleridge of Short Fuse Swamp Blues has a new EP, Texas Bus.

Over the years, they've played in every province of Spain at some point, except Teruel, which has allowed to connect deeply with Spanish audiences.

Currently based in Carboneras, Almería, Short Fuse Swamp Blues formed in London before relocating to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the goal of playing authentic Swamp Blues in its place of origin.

Short Fuse Swamp Blues released their work with Cambaya Records, and collaborations with Louisiana bluesmen appeared under their respective names on labels such as Sidetrack, Red Lightnin’, Wolf, and New Rose.

After returning to Europe, the band continued recording and touring with musicians such as Paul Orta, Henry Gray, Ike Cosse, and Bob Kirkpatrick.

Mick Clarke on the radio

British blues guitarist Mick Clarke began his career with KILLING FLOOR, part of the British blues boom of the late 1960s and contemporaries of Free, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. The band backed Texas blues guitar star Freddie King and toured with legends Howlin' Wolf and Otis Spann. The album "Killing Floor" was listed as one of Classic Rock Magazine's twenty top British blues albums of the period.

THE MICK CLARKE BAND was formed in the early 80s and toured extensively in Europe and the USA. Mick has appeared on numerous festivals with artists including Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Winter and Rory Gallagher, and the Southern California Blues Society called him "One of the finest blues players to come out of England".

In recent years the band has played dates in the UK, Europe and India, where Mick was the winner of the "best international act" from artistaloud.com.

Jay Rin

 

 

Jay Rin is a Nashville based rock singer songwriter and indie artist heavily influenced by music of the 60s/70s and alternative artists of the 90s and 00s. Her 2023 debut album "Fool on the Fringe" garnered Grammy considerations in Americana, American Roots, Rock, and Alternative Performance and Song categories reflective of the unforgettable tapestry of her immersive, provocative, and daring songwriting and artistry.  Jay Rin grew up in Whittier, CA and began touring county fairs and festivals alongside her dad Jimmy Becker in their duo Deep Fried Bubblegum. 

 

Their most recent 2020 release “All I want is to be close to you” though written before, became an anthem of the pandemic.  In 2013, Jay Rin moved to Nashville to study music at Belmont University. In 2015 she backed up the Rolling Stones at LP Field (now Nissan stadium) with the university’s ensemble Chorale.  She has been a featured artist on radio/tv segments like Nashville’s Lightning 100, Los Angeles KLOS, Local 5 Green Bay, Knoxville’s WDVX “Blue Plate Special”, etc.  Currently she is working on her second album working with Nashville heavy hitters like Peter Keys , John Salaway , Taylor Tuke , and Chili Munroe.  

 

When she isn’t touring her solo material you can also find her performing as the “John” in the all girl Beatles tribute Penny Lane performing at theaters across the country and across the pond to Liverpool’s Cavern Club.

Vancouver's Honeybear, The Band Releases "Unbroken" And Announces Winter Tour

 

 

Honeybear, the Band, the Vancouver-based vintage soul, blues, and roots quartet that music blog B-Side Guys describes as sounding "as if The Teskey Brothers decided to collaborate with the ghost of Muddy Waters," releases their new single "Unbroken" out now. The track serves as a quiet anthem to resilience, blending soul, blues, and pop sensibilities into a message that has resonated far beyond its original intention.

 

"Originally the tune was written as a quiet anthem to resilience, targeted at a friend of ours who was going through a really rough patch and needed some help to see the light at the end of the tunnel," the band explains. "However, this song has ended up being much bigger than us, our friends, and our own situations. Many that we play the song for can think of their own particular situation or relationship where some of this song's energy could have helped, and we are glad to hear their stories and bring it forward."

 

Comprising Ian Beaty on vocals and bass, Colin Brumelle on guitar, Mike Kenney on keyboards, and Tim Watson on drums, Honeybear takes listeners on an old school road trip through the dusty back roads of American music. While the band formed in 2023, the four members are old friends who have been playing together in other formations for over a decade, crossing paths on tours across Canada, down the West Coast, and beyond. The band's origin story captures the spirit of musical perseverance that defines their sound. When the pandemic struck and live music came to a standstill, the four friends found themselves jamming outdoors in parks, with amps and PA systems hooked up to jerry rigged motorcycle batteries, just to bask in the joy that is playing live music with like minded souls. Their debut FACTOR funded album, self released in June 2025 on their own Playmor label, has received well over 4 million streams on Spotify with approximately 110,000 monthly listeners. Recent packed club shows at some of the country's favorite dive bars including The Horseshoe in Toronto, the Rainbow in Ottawa, and the Ironwood in Calgary have seen the band routinely selling out shows in brand new markets.

"Blackout Romance (Hellstring Edit)" is the clean version of a previously released explicit track. 

Inspired by a childhood friend who was trapped in a destructive relationship, this song carries a message beyond music. It speaks to everyone who knows the pain of being caught in a toxic love – the endless cycle of passion, hope, and despair. With dark orchestral layers and the emotional voice of Nova Grey, the track reflects this struggle and aims to give strength to those who might feel the same. 

 

Nexus was founded in 2024 and represents the current songs such as Blackout Romance and further upcoming releases. The project emerged as a spin-off from CoolCatSound, which Guido Odendahl originally started in 2023 together with his daughters as a side project.  His musical roots go back much further: In the early 1990s he founded the label Music in time and released his first electronic tracks. In 1991, his track “GPF 497” appeared on the compilation Techno Modulator Vol. 1 (Ohrwurm Records) – at that time already on CD, which was considered progressive for the electronic scene. In parallel, he worked in sound design and audio programming, including a collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute on a 3D audio technology for stereo headphones, where he was co-holder of a patent.  Until 2017, he lived in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany); since then, he has been based in the Allgäu region (Germany), where he lives with his children. He was married, is now divorced, and continues his artistic work from there.  The releases of Nexus are distributed via RecordJet / Neighbouring Rights. Musically, Nexus moves between cinematic synth layers, electronic structures, and intense emotions. Alongside instrumental works, songs with vocals are also created – sometimes performed by himself, but preferably in collaboration with female vocalists.

The Davidson Trio

 

The Davidson Trio is a hard rocking power trio based in Birmingham and the West Midlands in the UK.

The band is led by Owen Davidon, the bass playing and 5 octave vocalist (formerly with Uli Jon Roth & Rumour).

Guitarist Ben Bicknell was Davidson’s fellow band member in the Glenn Hughes tribute called Black Country Community, while the band is powered by exciting new discovery Ellis Brown on drums.

The band’s debut recording ‘Cougar’, is an old school album given a contemporary makeover, with cracking songs, seamless interplay, bursting solos and Davidson soulful vocals.

As Owen explains: "This album is a return to my rock-blues and funk roots. I was always into guitarists like Jeff Beck, while in my early career I supported Trapeze, and I always liked the idea of a power trio.

I also was influenced by bass players like Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten and of course Glenn Hughes. 

So having met Ben and Ellis, I wanted to write the best possible songs in a power trio format.

I'd like to think that with this album we have achieved that."

'Cougar' is a powerhouse rock blues album with sharp riffs, booming solos and catchy hooks.

British-born multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Daniel McBrearty lives in Gent, Belgium, a town with a vibrant music scene. This EP showcases music created with friends, whose passion for the golden age of jazz is heard at numerous local jams. The timeless elegance of that era is lovingly re-created with modern production values. Daniel is also on guitar, joined by Andrea Di Fiore (bass) and Jake Naugle (drums).

Bitter Luck is a rock n’ roll band bringing a unique sound to the Washington, D.C. area and beyond, modernizing the classic rock vibes of Aerosmith, Humble Pie, and Guns N’ Roses with a progressive flair inspired by Rush and Winery Dogs. Their energetic debut single, “Haunted Hills”, produced by Ben Green at Ivakota Recording in Washington D.C., released August 8th, 2025 and the band's focus is now on their forthcoming five-track EP.

The band is fronted with Ean Eschenburg's powerful, wide-ranging vocals and the versatility of guitarist Andrei Wells. Rounding out the rhythm section is the biting bass playing of Will Gies and drummer Eric Levy's hard hitting grooves.
