Judith Owen

Welsh singer and performer Judith Owen is releasing her new album, "Come On & Get It", via Twanky Records, together with a charming, burlesque-infused new video for "Tess's Torch Song". The video was filmed at the Toulouse Theatre in New Orleans, featuring the bow-tie "Loving Big Band".

Delicious, delightful, bodacious, brave, insightful, seductive and fun - just some of the many adjectives one might use to describe Judith Owen's fascinating and alluring new album.

Owen, a now New Orleans native who originally hails from Wales, conceived of the project as a result of her childhood fascination with the jazz music of some of the ballsiest women of the Jazz and Blues world, including unsung trailblazers Nellie Lutcher and Julia Lee whom she discovered hidden on the shelves of her father's record collection alongside the likes of Oscar Peterson and Jelly Roll Morton. Captivated and enchanted by these "unapologetic" chanteuses of the 40's/50's (Pearl Bailey, Dinah Washington, Blossom Dearie, Peggy Lee, Julie London), who were singing about sex - and enjoying it at a time when women were meant to sing about romance - Owen made it her mission to dig deep and find out more from both a musical and historical perspective. The result is "Come On & Get It," the most joyful, uplifting, and empowering project to emerge out of Covid; a throw-back with a fresh feel complete with a look and style that speaks of all those delectable, hugely entertaining women who broke the glass ceiling with their shoe heels and were ever so proud of it!

Recorded at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans, "Come On & Get It" features a stellar cast of musicians, including Jason Marsalis, Donald Harrison, Charlie Gabriel, Nicholas Payton, David Torkanowsky, Kevin Louis...

Armored Dawn

The Brazilian band Armored Dawn resumes activities with the newest single "S.O.S.".

Written by Carolina Angeli and the group’s ex-drummer, Rodrigo Oliveira, the song portrays the feelings of a person with depression, who wants to be alone and reclusive with their pains and thoughts, believing that no one will ever understand his/her feelings or what is happening to his/her.

Mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), the single shows a great evolution in the band’s sound.

“S.O.S.” is available on digital platforms in partnership with Outono Music, a label specializing in rock and metal, distributed by Universal Music.

Syd Carter West

Beyond the anthemic blues rock progressions and in-your-face lyrics, Syd Carter West has been navigating her way through finding the potential in her imperfections rather than striving for perfection. "'Motorbike Man' is my muse - the wild, carefree, gritty, and badass man I desire and the person I want to be. Through this song, I find inspiration in letting loose and tearing myself away from the idea of perfection and normal," West confesses. "Motorbike Man" presents West's truth as a heavier, rock-forward artist.
