John Lodge, is the legendary bass guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for the iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2018 inductees, The Moody Blues Songwriter of such mega Moody Blues hits from “Ride My See-Saw,” to “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band),” “Isn’t Life Strange” and many more. Lodge has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling in excess of 70 million albums, as well as releasing his five solo albums ‘Natural Avenue’, ’10,000 Light Years Ago’, ‘B Yond’. ‘Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn’, and new EP, ‘Love Conquers All’. ‘Love Will Conquer All’ was written by John during his recent health challenges, suffering, as he put it, a ‘Christmas present he didn’t want’, a stroke. While he dealt with this personal adversity, and the immense challenge of the work involved to recover, he felt his creativity rising to create this heart-warming Christmas song. ‘Love Will Conquer All’ is a song of love, renewal and healing, and John wanted to share it with everyone in the sincere hope that his journey might just help inspire others.

The song was written by John, and features John on vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar and acoustic guitar. Jon Davison, the singer of the progressive rock band YES, and John’s son-in-law, joins him on background vocals, provided the drums and rhythms, and also co-produced the track with John. Lead guitar is provided by Ray Nesbit, John’s Front of House Sound on tour, and also an incredible musician too. Finally, John asked his wife to join him on backing vocals, as at the heart of this song is his relationship with Kirsten, and their 56 year marriage… Love Will Conquer All.

Jean Marinov

Jean Marinov, known professionally as Jean Mar, is a prominent Bulgarian musician based in Switzerland. Born in Sofia in 1974, he began his musical journey at 11, singing and playing guitar. After being part of several Bulgarian rock and blues bands, he moved to the U.S., where he played with various rock groups in New Jersey and New York until 2011. Jean Mar returned to Europe, debuting in Bulgaria in 2014 with the hit song “Ti si v men.” He gained popularity in Switzerland with his 2018 single “Love is.” Beyond music, he advocates for social causes, including anti-violence and ovarian cancer prevention efforts.

Di Angelis is the second studio project of Frank van Engelen. A follow up to the 2020 released album under the moniker Frank Di Angelis. DiAngelis' music is a melodic, funky blend of easy listening and jazzy pop, highlighted by female lead vocals. What sets Di Angelis apart is its approach to writing and recording music. "I've opted for the Steely Dan principle," says the songwriter, producer and musician Frank van Engelen. Written on April 9, 2011, following the Alphen aan den Rijn (NL) shopping center attack, "You and I" was born from the need to express. It's a sad but truthful tale, with the acknowledgment that 'there's nothing you can do'. Initially conceived as a soft rock piece, it evolved into a more robust sound through the contributions of various musicians.

Martini Russa

"City of Ghosts" is a song about abandoned towns due to human-made disasters such as the ghost town of Pripyat near Chernobyl, or due to armed conflicts such as the once fancy tourist town of Varosha after the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus.

The cover art features a photo of Varosha Anastasia took as a guard pointed a gun at her because photography was forbidden at the time.

This song was also inspired in part by the Arab Spring, as evidenced by the first lines of the lyrics:
“Lay down your arms - spring has come,” - and in part by Alan Weisman’s book The World Without Us, which explores what would happen to our cities if human race were to suddenly disappear. It was the first song Martini and Anastasia worked on upon meeting each other in Barcelona, Spain, and although "City of Ghosts" is a rock ballad, there are elements of flamenco in Martini’s guitar melodies.

They Were Legends

 

 

They Were Legends" is a super group from St. Louis, Missouri that creates soulful music across various genres. The group was formed in late 2021 by Roddric Ward (aka Rip James) and Terrance Waffer (aka Thrush) while recording their second song at J-Crazy Entertainment. They quickly realized they needed additional sounds to satisfy their fans, so they invited Darian Wilson (aka Professor Payne) to add drums to their songs. Soon after, Payne joined the group, and Thrush reached out to Matthew Kury (aka Kury Bass) to add the bass guitar to the group. By mid-2023, the group was complete and deep in the recording of their debut album, self-titled "They Were Legends." Montreal Blues Powerhouse Sarah Sokal Debuts Bold Single "Man Made" from New Album Twisted Games

 

 

After veering from the adult contemporary and pop worlds, Montreal blues singer Sarah Sokal is bringing a sensational and powerful new album Twisted Games to listeners led by a delectable, brawny single "Man Made." It's a beefy, bluesy, party-starting track that showcases Sokal's alluring and alarmingly strong pipes, keeping the blues alive by bridging the gap between tradition and modernity, drawing in a younger audience who appreciate both timeless blues and the appeal of mainstream music.

 

"Man Made," co-written by Sokal and Stewart McKie and produced by DUBë (who also mixed, recorded, and engineered the song), brings to mind the likes of classic Amy Winehouse and the late Sharon Jones with its feel-good, uplifting tempo and confident, self-assured arrangement. Keyboardist Dave Lines complements Sokal's introductory verse before guitarist Andy Dacoulis, bassist Dray Woods, and drummer Jean Nadeau flesh the "Man Made" to perfection. "I feel like being a woman in the industry calls for having a male sherpa to climb up!" Sokal says. "I have always been accompanied by a chosen male advisor/protector. I would love to experience being more surrounded by women creatives in the future, but it wasn't in my cards that much so far."

 

Sokal, who cites Beth Hart and Susan Tedeschi as influences along with icons such as Peggy Lee, Etta James and Dinah Washington, grew up listening to rock and rhythm and blues in her teens. That blues passion resurfaced and solidified after meeting producer Marc Dube for a coffee in Montreal a few years ago. "I had two songs written, and I had a strong desire to record a full blues album destined to be a vengeance album, turning the ugly I've experienced through my journey in the industry into something beautiful and empowering," she says.

 

"Man Made" is from Sokal's Twisted Games album, a 13-track release whose origins began during the pandemic and faced challenges with social distancing during the recording process. Wanting to put her own stamp on the record, Sokal found the freedom to "express myself better" with this record and developing her artistic identity and sound. She also says the creative process is what fuels her passion. "It is never fully conscious decisions; I just go along with my instincts," Sokal says. "I like to paint and write songs without a plan or a proper canvas. That's where the pure and true energy feeds my imagination."

 

Sokal has had an illustrious career thus far. Writing her first song at age five (entitled "Pourquoi"), the musician professionally recorded her first song "I'm Lost" when she was just 15. From there she performed as a teenager in various hotels around Montreal and Quebec before forming The Sarah Sokal Band. Her group performed at various private functions, corporate events, and fundraisers, showcasing a musical mix of pop, adult contemporary, and blues. She is also a vocal coach and has worked with a variety of Juno Award-nominated and Juno Award-winning artists.

 

Sokal's previous releases include EPs entitled Ink and Paper, the five-song effort Your Song and Broken Promises. The singer, who recently performed at Montreal's Sutton en Blues Festival, was also a runner-up in the International Songwriting Contest's Song of the Year category.

Downstone

Downstone is a Finnish band formed in 2005 in the Bothnian Bay area, specifically in the towns of Oulu and Kemi. After several changes in the line-up, the band eventually consisted solely of Oulu-based members. This allowed Downstone to focus on developing their own sound and style of music. During recent years the band has relocated to USA and Finland. Downstone’s music blends rock and metal, characterized by melodies and a strong atmospheric presence. The band experimented also with acoustic arrangements for their existing material in 2007, which led to the release of their unplugged album, ‘Hinderance’, in 2008. Since 2005 Downstone has performed in various live line-ups and completed a total of four releases as singles, EPs, full-length albums, and live albums. In 2024, Downstone is preparing for the release of their new full-length album, entitled Colours of Addiction. The album is set to release at the beginning of 2025, preceded by single releases. Zita is a four piece group that fuses classic rock, funk, and blues to create a live show that surpasses expectations. Founded on their shared love for rock & roll music the days of their youth, and an affinity for the great music history of New Orleans, their sound resides uniquely between these two worlds. Andy Plews

Andy Plews is a songwriter based in Brooklyn who is creating a body of work that makes him happy and reflects a journey that's taken him from Scottish roots and early years in the North of England to New York City. His first album, The Macclesfield Years reflects his broad influences and tells a range of diverse stories, real and imagined. Growing up in, and leaving behind his hometown; an ode to a friend who experienced a broken neck; Return Ticket, the true story of a suffragette; a Japanese Fable that is just that and no more; and 10-Advil Day, a cautionary tale of love, loss and Ibuprofen. Andy collaborates with a range of artists including his old friend in Scotland Pete Rawlinson, and the emerging NYC producer Marco Lamas. Andy takes a meticulous approach to his song arrangements and works with some of the most talented young session musicians in New York.

Maurice Aucoin is a distinguished singer/songwriter From Halifax, Canada, and recognized as one of Halifax’s most venerable musicians. He's been the driving force behind the dynamic Eastern Canadian band, 'The Persuaders', for an impressive 34 years. "My first love was music and it came from my mother. She was always singing gospel music around the house. The peace that would transcend with her singing during the hard times of my life was my inspiration. So I guess you can say gospel music is my spirit and R&B is my soul. I was at a nightclub with some friends when I first heard All This Love by Debarge and I was like, “Man! If I could sing like that” and pretty much that was it, the beginning….. 

I started working with my vocals and practicing with different musical genres which led me to writing my own songs. The first song I wrote was a gospel song called, Let’s Get Ready which got some good reviews from family and friends, but I knew I had to keep pushing and writing and learning. So I kept going and I wrote several more songs which were a combination of both gospel and R&B. I even submitted a song for a Coca Cola commercial and got knocked out at the last minute. However my music career was gaining traction. I began to get requests from other up and coming artists to sing on their songs and I collaborated with many talented artists. Today, my vocal ability has matured and grown into a solid flow. I have even started developing my own tracks. I see myself once again at the beginning of a career that can only get better and with the right opportunities, grow into a rising star."
