Jasmine Tea

The one and only John Sebastian (Lovin' Spoonful) is a fan a Jasmine Tea and has played on a few of our songs. Jasmine Tea decided to honor him by doing a cover of one of his songs, "Magical Connection"... and they even named their 6th album after it.

This album shows the diversity of Jasmine Tea with alternative rock songs like "I Want to Live on Mars" to the gentle ballad of "Come As You Were". In between those two is the Eagles-like opening song called "I'd Hate to Think I'm Falling In Love".

Jasmine Tea was christened in a study hall back in DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, NJ by three of the original members: Bob Stritch, Michael Strong, and Rich DeClemente.  There was no flaming pie or vision, just someone drinking Jasmine Tea.  The journey began in New Jersey, and has since traversed the East coast from Martha's Vineyard to Florida.  Their music touches on a variety of genres, so it’s hard to say what defines them.  Some of the songs are of the singer/songwriter variety with catchy melodies, while others lean on retro roots rock with bluesy guitar riffs.  Check out the guitar in “Hauling That Cross” or “Having Too Much Love”, and you’ll definitely hear the blues influence.  Contrast that with the beautiful vocals, strings, and classical guitar of “Audrey” – and you will have discovered both sides of Jasmine Tea.  But wait! Then there's the dog songs, “My One Best Friend”, which was chosen to open the 2022 New York City Dog Film Festival and “MacGregor the Scot” which will premier in the 2023 Film Festival (who knew there was a film festival about dogs?).  Their most popular recording is “Just A Little” with over 45,000 streams in the first two months of its release.

What makes their music so varied and interesting is the wide array of influences that each member brings with him.  Drummer Rich DeClemente studied jazz in college, but is just as likely to listen to Frank Sinatra or Herb Albert when he isn’t playing Steve Gadd drum fills to Steely Dan.  Michael Strong, the band’s other music major, lists Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and the R&B of Curtis Mayfield for his influences.  Bob Stritch (aka Bones) is more of a James Taylor and Bruce Cockburn guy.  Bassist Bob Short (aka The Babe) credits The Beatles as his first influence but is quick to praise the current day Indie music, especially fanclubwallet and Backseat Lovers. So travel with Jasmine Tea on a musical excursion into the rhythm and rhyme of elegance.  They are a song band, a quartet of one, honed to each other's sonar in pursuit of a simple mission: make good songs.

Di Angelis

Di Angelis is the second studio project of Frank van Engelen. A follow up to the 2020 released album under the moniker Frank Di Angelis. DiAngelis' music is a melodic, funky blend of easy listening and jazzy pop, highlighted by female lead vocals. What sets Di Angelis apart is its approach to writing and recording music. "I've opted for the Steely Dan principle," says the songwriter, producer and musician Frank van Engelen. "For each track, I've consistently chosen the best musicians rather than recording with a fixed lineup."

Frank van Engelen has a rich career in music. Starting at a young age on drums, he later switched to bass guitar at the age of 15. Eventually evolving into a multi-instrumentalist who knows his ways on keyboards and guitar as well. Despite his talent and love for music, he initially didn't pursue a professional career in music. However, when approached by the producer of the Dutch act Gare de Nord, founded by Ferdi Lancee (composer, guitarist) and Barend Fransen (co-founder), he decided to take on the role of bass guitarist. Gare du Nord expanded beyond a studio act with live performances, becoming highly successful with a unique blend of jazz, pop, and lounge. Van Engelen spent eight years with the band, contributing to three studio albums.

Though Van Engelen is also active as an internet entrepreneur running various webshops, his greatest passion remains making and recording music. His major inspirations include acts like Toto, Level 42, Boz Scaggs, and artists like Jeff Porcaro and Mark King. The duo Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, better known as Steely Dan, serve as the perfect example for Van Engelen's approach. No fixed lineup, but consistently choosing the best musicians for each individual track. "A fixed lineup doesn't work. At least not for me. That's why I chose the Steely Dan principle, recording the twelve tracks with nearly fifty different musicians. So, different configurations, always considering which musician best suits each song. However, all musicians rehearsed all twelve tracks." "I first create the demos myself, guiding what I'm looking for. The musicians then contribute based on their expertise. This not only prolonged the recording process for almost two years but also allowed me to meet many musicians I didn’t know before. Initially, the only two I knew well were Jan van Duikeren and Ferdi Lancee from Gare du Nord. Jan played a central role in approaching other musicians. Only drummer Hans Eijkenaar was my own choice, especially because I didn't want to stick too much to a jazz sound. Hans has more of a rock sound but can also play jazz. Moreover, he can blend the two into the robust sound it has become. Additionally, I didn't want this project to rely on one fixed female vocalist. We recorded songs with Dewi. Later in the process, we settled on Lotte Nobelen as the songs in the studio kept evolving, prompting us to rerecord the vocals."
Van Engelen began writing new songs during the Corona period. But the album now includes tracks already written in 1995, 2006, 2011, and 2014. The creative process unfolded without a predetermined master plan; "I write what I write, although I'm influenced by the acts mentioned earlier. But how it should sound wasn't clear beforehand. The only thing certain was that it would consist of twelve tracks." Van Engelen initiated the recording process in March 2022 and completed the studio project in December 2023. It was a lengthy process, partly due to the extensive time required for mixing and mastering. "It took a lot of time because working with so many different instruments like strings and brass demands a lot of fine-tuning. And yes, we set the bar quite high. Not that we strive for perfection. As music must remain alive and authentic we look for that point just beyond perfection. I listen to the tracks every day, and still discovering how talented the musicians truly are. What we have now is simply a fantastic record for me."

With all twelve tracks recorded, mixed and mastered, plans for the release are slowly taking shape. "As it stands now, we're opting for 'Don't Wanna Fight' as the first single, scheduled for release in the fall. Over the coming weeks and months, we'll create additional content such as photos and videos for promotion and campaigns, including social media channels. Based on the data we receive from those platforms and streaming services, we'll further define our plan. This also applies to a potential physical release on vinyl and CD. If the data shows significant traffic in a certain region, we'll explore opportunities for live performances. For now, it's just me. There's no band. Once the opportunity arises to play live, we'll simply put together a band. The band has not been formed yet, but for me, it will definitely include Jan van Duikeren with his section, Hans Eijkenaar, Tim Langendijk, Berthil Busstra, and Ferry Lagendijk. But I also need to consider a smaller lineup for acoustic settings, allowing us to perform in a radio studio." Release The new DiAngelis album is slated for release in the fall of 2024 on Van Engelen's own Margaux label. "I'm already very satisfied with the end result and the tracks we have. But I owe it to myself to market it. I haven't set any specific goals for it. Setting goals in music is also difficult for me. Whatever comes my way now is welcome. Because ultimately, it's all about the journey, and not the final destination."

Pageant

Pageant’s new single, “Your Name”, is an exciting, tongue-in-cheek telling of a toxic relationship, driven by catchy vocals and dirty guitar licks. Produced by Brian Craddock of Daughtry and mastered by Grammy-winning Brad Blackwood, the song mixes a bluesy feel with writing styles reminiscent of mid-2000s rock, perfect to listen to in the car with the windows down. From the dramatic guitar solo to the driving drum beat, it’s impossible not to move when listening to this earworm of a song.

North Carolina based 4 piece Pageant, " Your Name" is the bands second single of the year, the previous single is "Show Me How To Love You" back in April. The band also released their debut album "Walk The Line" in August 2023, which was described as a "bold introduction to a band, combining the rawness of classic rock with the flair of 80`s glam". The band started out as a trio, with Roxxi Dirt on Bass and Vocals, Dylan Dynasty on drums and  Dessi Fozzy on lead guitar and now added Cam Duke on rhythm guitar. I hope you enjoy the bluesy rock n roll of Pageant and their new single "Your Name".

Tim Camrose

Camrose’s journey to music is very different from the others in his Manchester scene. With careers as a junior doctor, money market trader, and consultant surgeon under his belt, Tim Camrose has shifted his focus back to his passion – music. Now, he journeys on in this new chapter while reflecting on the rich experiences of his past.

"Scared Anymore" is a single that finds beauty in tragedy. Written one afternoon while Tim was thinking of his late brother, "Scared Anymore" is in memory of Camrose’s sibling but isn’t explicitly about him. The powerful track instead explores a bittersweet tone and a quiet peace. Tim’s signature gentle vocals invite audiences to meditate on the hard times in their lives, in a warm reassuring way. Keen eared listeners may recognize influences from greats such as Billy Joel and Elton John.

"Scared Anymore" is taken from the artist’s EP "Empty Roads", released November 28, 2023. This contemporary rock collection takes listeners on a journey through the singer-songwriter’s experiences, blending elements from guitar riffs to saxophone melodies. With influences ranging from jazz to rock ballads, each track offers a vivid sonic snapshot that reflects the highs and lows of Camrose’s diverse life.

Raquel Bitton

French jazz singer and recording artist Raquel Bitton is recognized as the foremost singer of French Jazz music in America today and has been internationally reviewed as the greatest interpreter of the music from the Edith Piaf repertoire.  Raquel was Born in Marrakesh, Morocco.

In 1970, as a teenager, Raquel and her family moved to San Francisco where she began her American career, focusing on the songs from the French l’Age d’Or.  She discovered her French repertoire by dusting off her father’s old records that he brought with him to America. Raquel was drawn to the passionate melodies and lyrics of the romantic period of the 1930’s and 40’s.

Raquel’s insatiable appetite for songs of the heart led her to the Edith Piaf songbook. Raquel became not only an expert historian on the life and songs of Edith Piaf, but also a renowned interpreter of her music, singularly able to capture the complete essence of one of the great vocalists of the 20th Century.  Raquel has performed her hit show, “Raquel Bitton sings Piaf- her story, her songs” to sold-out performances at notable concert halls across North America including Carnegie Hall 3x “PIAF- her story, her songs” celebrates the extraordinary life of the legendary Piaf through her songs. A 20-piece orchestra backs Bitton’s one-woman tribute to the “little sparrow.”

Bitton’s unique, heartfelt renditions (sung in French) and her powerful delivery take her audience on an intensely moving and emotional journey.  In addition, Raquel performs several other elegant French-themed presentations including “Pops goes to Paris” (for symphony pops) “A Little Bit Of Paris” and now her newest show “Boleros” Where Passion Meets Romance to support her new French/Latin Jazz CD release “Boleros”.

John Lodge

John Lodge, is the legendary bass guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for the iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2018 inductees, The Moody Blues Songwriter of such mega Moody Blues hits from “Ride My See-Saw,” to “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band),” “Isn’t Life Strange” and many more. Lodge has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling in excess of 70 million albums, as well as releasing his five solo albums ‘Natural Avenue’, ’10,000 Light Years Ago’, ‘B Yond’. ‘Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn’, and new EP, ‘Love Conquers All’. Lodge has been voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet,” and has been the recipient of many awards, including ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers), an Ivor Novello Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Prog Magazine, to name just a few.

‘Love Will Conquer All’ was written by John during his recent health challenges, suffering, as he put it, a ‘Christmas present he didn’t want’, a stroke. While he dealt with this personal adversity, and the immense challenge of the work involved to recover, he felt his creativity rising to create this heart-warming Christmas song. ‘Love Will Conquer All’ is a song of love, renewal and healing, and John wanted to share it with everyone in the sincere hope that his journey might just help inspire others.

The song was written by John, and features John on vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar and acoustic guitar. Jon Davison, the singer of the progressive rock band YES, and John’s son-in-law, joins him on background vocals, provided the drums and rhythms, and also co-produced the track with John. Lead guitar is provided by Ray Nesbit, John’s Front of House Sound on tour, and also an incredible musician too. Finally, John asked his wife to join him on backing vocals, as at the heart of this song is his relationship with Kirsten, and their 56 year marriage… Love Will Conquer All.

“We all have our challenges in life, mine happened last Christmas… but like a phoenix this song appeared and helped me work through some of those difficult days. As I look forward to Christmas this year, I know it was love that got me through, and my Christmas wish for everyone is that they are surrounded with love (and great music) this year.”
