Today multi-Grammy award nominated and winning drummer, producer and educator Emanuel Harrold has announced details of a new album titled “We Da People”. The album follows his recent EP “Funk La Soul” and will be released via London tastemaker label and analogue specialists Gearbox Records (Binker Golding, Roland Kirk, The Cookers, Abdullah Ibrahim). The LP is a positive combination of uplifting messages and improvisational sounds that transcend R&B, jazz, soul, gospel, and funk.

Wild Wisteria

Down on Devereux Road, in a leafy, manicured middle-class suburb, nestled in the foothills of Adelaide in South Australia, life doesn’t always reflect outward appearances. And yet, with the opportunity of a good school, new friends and improved financial circumstances, kids can rise above their upbringing and the broken relationships of parents, to become successful, self-actualizing adults. They can re-write the narrative of their own lives and define those of the next generation. Like all good stories, Devereux Road is inspired by real events.

Birds are better

The brainchild of Norwegian singer-songwriter Stian Fjelldal, Birds Are Better brings a unique slant to folk music with a fusion of traditional folk, power-pop, synth-rock and indie-pop.

The Other Side Reviews describes the project as a meeting between Charlie Puth and Mumford and Sons while Of Monsters and Men comes to the minds of Nordic Music Central and Music To Blame.

Fjelldal himself is a huge fan of artists like Fleet Foxes and Loney Dear and you might be able to spot Birds Are Better somewhere in between.

The project was launched this fall and “Marigold” is his second single. More singles will come before the debut album release in 2023.
