Andy Plews

Andy Plews is a songwriter based in Brooklyn who is creating a body of work that makes him happy and reflects a journey that's taken him from Scottish roots and early years in the North of England to New York City. His first album, The Macclesfield Years reflects his broad influences and tells a range of diverse stories, real and imagined. Growing up in, and leaving behind his hometown; an ode to a friend who experienced a broken neck; Return Ticket, the true story of a suffragette; a Japanese Fable that is just that and no more; and 10-Advil Day, a cautionary tale of love, loss and Ibuprofen. Andy collaborates with a range of artists including his old friend in Scotland Pete Rawlinson, and the emerging NYC producer Marco Lamas. Andy takes a meticulous approach to his song arrangements and works with some of the most talented young session musicians in New York. 

In its review of 10 Advil Day, the music blog Expansion Radial notes: “It’s like reading a personal journal filled with pages of pain, regret and acceptance. He has managed to capture those difficult moments in life with an honesty that is moving. Maurice Aucoin is a distinguished singer/songwriter From Halifax, Canada, and recognized as one of Halifax’s most venerable musicians. He's been the driving force behind the dynamic Eastern Canadian band, 'The Persuaders', for an impressive 34 years. Johnny Henderson

"My first love was music and it came from my mother. She was always singing gospel music around the house. The peace that would transcend with her singing during the hard times of my life was my inspiration. So I guess you can say gospel music is my spirit and R&B is my soul. I was at a nightclub with some friends when I first heard All This Love by Debarge and I was like, “Man! If I could sing like that” and pretty much that was it, the beginning….. 

I started working with my vocals and practicing with different musical genres which led me to writing my own songs. The first song I wrote was a gospel song called, Let’s Get Ready which got some good reviews from family and friends, but I knew I had to keep pushing and writing and learning. So I kept going and I wrote several more songs which were a combination of both gospel and R&B. I even submitted a song for a Coca Cola commercial and got knocked out at the last minute. However my music career was gaining traction. I began to get requests from other up and coming artists to sing on their songs and I collaborated with many talented artists. Today, my vocal ability has matured and grown into a solid flow. I have even started developing my own tracks. I see myself once again at the beginning of a career that can only get better and with the right opportunities, grow into a rising star."

Apryl was born in 2000 in Ticino, Switzerland. At around the age of seven, she began singing in a choir and later participated in numerous singing competitions across various European countries, always sharing her passion with her family. For Apryl, singing represents a realm of freedom, a way to express deep emotions and feelings, especially through the lyrics of her songs. 

Her musical taste is rooted in international pop, drawing inspiration from artists such as Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine, Maisie Peters, Noah Kahan, Chance Peña, and Benson Boone. In 2023, Apryl embarked on the journey of writing her first EP in collaboration with the songwriters from Koolbeat, a music label based in Lugano.

DiAngelis

Frank van Engelen (DiAngelis) has a rich career in music.

Starting at a young age on drums, he switched to bass guitar at 15. Eventually evolving into a multi-instrumentalist who knows his way on keyboards and guitar as well. Despite his talent and love for music, he initially didn't pursue a professional music career. However, when approached by the producer of the Dutch act Gare de Nord, founded by Ferdi Lancee (composer, guitarist) and Barend Fransen (co-founder), he decided to take on the role of bass guitarist. Gare du Nord expanded beyond a studio act with live performances, becoming highly successful with a unique blend of jazz, pop, and lounge. Van Engelen spent eight years with the band, contributing to three studio albums.

Frank is inspired by acts like Toto, Level 42, Boz Scaggs, and artists like Jeff Porcaro and Mark King. The duo Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, better known as Steely Dan, serve as the perfect example for Van Engelen's approach.
