WACHI is a guitarist and composer whose music blends blues and neo-soul with a raw, expressive solo guitar style.He began playing guitar at the age of 14, inspired by the Japanese band LUNA SEA. Soon after, his brother introduced him to artists like Metallica, and discovering Pantera had a profound impact on his musical direction. By 16, he had formed his first band and started writing original metal music. At 18, he moved to Tokyo and established the band “Divine Era.”At 20, WACHI moved to the United States to study at the Musicians Institute, where he was exposed to a wide range of musical styles. During this time, he revived Divine Era, releasing three albums and touring extensively across the U.S.In 2020, he returned to Japan and began a new chapter, shifting his focus to solo guitar. Moving away from heavy metal, he developed a style rooted in blues and neo-soul, emphasizing feel, groove, and spontaneity. Performing at local bars, live houses, and on the streets of Tokyo while releasing singles independently, he refined a more intimate and expressive musical voice.His upcoming solo guitar album, My Spin on the Blues, features 10 tracks recorded entirely in one take, capturing the raw emotion and authenticity of his playing.
